According to the 2021-2030 Lithuanian Culture and Creativity Development Program, the cultural and creative industries sector has been one of the largest employers and one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy in recent years, contributing significantly to the creation of added value for the country’s economy. The new creative company Hexomeda, which grew out of the Lispa school and closely cooperates with this school and the entertainment loft, has been working in Marijampole and throughout Lithuania for three years. Hexomeda is a start up with a clear vision. They want the children taught by the Lispa school to stay in Marijampole as specialists, programmers, designers, mechatronics specialists and their employment would be implemented by Hexomeda.
Hexomeda operates in two areas – programming, where software is created, and engineering solutions, when customers’ equipment needs to be operational, using programming knowledge and creating greater added value for that equipment. The company have focused on software development. They have created a content management system to manage the interactive screens and devices available in companies. For example, the library has many interactive screens, has its own information source, website, and Hexameda with its content management system can broadcast their information in high quality through their devices, which are often not supported. Also, the software they work with, serves for the dissemination of information in public spaces, For example info terminals. The company has built many infoterminals in Lithuania – most of them are in the Zemaitija region, in towns Klaipeda, Telsiai, Rietavas, Plunge, Marijampole. They plan to create a network of terminals so that they can interact with each other.
The need for creative industries in Lithuania is constantly increasing. For example, Hexomeda is currently creating a unique artistic educational computer game for the library of town Skuodas about their native, the famous Lithuanian writer Romualdas Granauskas. However, Hexomeda is a unique organization in Lithuania. Its uniqueness in Lithuania is that they have created their own Lithuanian management system that serves smart devices and is adapted to municipal educational institutions. Such a management system does not exist anywhere else in Lithuania. Its uniqueness is that they respond to the needs of Lithuanian cultural institutions and can offer a specialized product exclusively for the client. Today, Hexomeda operates with two more institutions – Lispa school and entertainment loft. Hexomeda can create unique educational tools for both Lithuanian schools and Loft. For example, educational games that can serve educational purposes and can be adapted for entertainment. The child plays, entertains and learns without knowing it. So Hexomeda has a connection with educational and cultural institutions. And serves cultural and educational purposes. Therefore, as a start-up, Hexomeda fulfills its mission, rapidly expands its activities, and is open to new ideas and techniques.
